K2 Clean up Expedition 2001

MGPO sponsored by the Ali Khan Afridi Foundation undertook the clean up of the entire length of the access route from village Askoli along the Baltoro Glacier to the base camps of K2, Gasherbum I, Broadpeak and Gasherbum II.

The clean up expedition utilized the services of 150 porters and collected 5000kg of non degradable waste, 1500kg of degradable waste and 1200kg of human waste. The mission took 6 weeks to complete this arduous task.
