MGPO receives the Himalayan Environmental Trust Award for 2005!

MGPO was recommended by the Alpine Club of Pakistan to the Himalayan Environmental Trust for making an outstanding contribution in the conservation of mountain environment and promotion of Eco-tourism.

MGPO CEO, Aisha Khan was invited to attend the “Mountaineering and Tourism Meet” in Mussoorie (India) to receive the award and share the achievements of MGPO with the august assembly which comprised of people like Maurice Herzog, the first person to break the 8000 meter barrier in 1950 with his successful summit of Annapurna, Junko Tabei, the first woman to summit Mount Everest and Nawang Gombu, the first man to climb Mt. Everest twice. Other luminaries included Dr. J. Gabriel Campbell, Director General ICIMOD, Mr. Ang Tshering Sherpa, President Nepal Mountaineering Association, Mr. Arup Rajouria, Secretary General, King Mahindra Trust for Nature Conservation and Mr. Kazbek Valiyev, Kazakistan Mountaineering Foundation.
