MGPO's Education Sponsorship Programme
MGPO’s school rebuilding programme 2006-08 has brought the facilities of modern school education within reach of hundreds of boys and girls in the earthquake-affected areas of Azad Jammu & Kashmir and North West Frontier Province. 2923 children now benefit from attending 8 purpose-built primary, middle and senior schools in the region with ten more schools due for completion by December 2008.

We had never even dreamed of a school like this in our area before the earthquake. The girls were thrilled to see the computer and science labs but unfortunately we did not have teachers to make use of these modern teaching tools..
MGPO Teacher Sponsorship Program has provided us with teachers and finally the students are able to benefit from these addtional facilities.

Why do we need help
The schools rebuilt after the earthquake are larger in size and have state of the art equipment. The new schools offer new learning opportunities but due to shortage of staff are unable to realise the full potential for improved service delivery. The enhanced facilities require enhanced staffing. The Education Departments do not have surplus funds to cater for this sudden increase in the number of teachers that are needed to make all the departments fully operational.The need for additional teachers is urgent.To help the new schools make optimal use of its facilities and dispense quality education, MGPO invites you to support its teacher sponsorship programme.
