Health and Environment
Concept
The world Health Organization defines health as a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity.
Eating right, exercising and sleeping well are all very important in the prevention of infections and diseases, but equally important is a good sense of self, a loving support network and the potential for continued personal growth.
Poor healthcare in developing countries contributes to poverty, affects the mental health of all family members, deprives the girl child of education and increase the workload on the mother/wife. Many people are also disenfranchised because of geographic location, social stigma against certain behaviors, illnesses and diseases.
The 2005 Earthquake in Pakistan destroyed all the health care centers in Azad Jammu & Kashmir and North Western Frontier Province.
